For the first time in the modern Johnson Tennis era, the #4 seeded Johnson tennis team won their first ever state playoff game, a 3-2 victory over #5 Madison at the JTC. The history making event was clinched by a big three set victory by second singles player, Mike Monagle. The team's run for a state championship continues...

(2nd singles) Mike Monagle (W)- 6-0, 1-6, 6-4
(3rd singles) Joe Tkac (L)- 3-6, 3-6
(1st doubles) Devin Felter/ Chintan Patel (W)- 6-0, 6-3
(2nd doubles) Victor Broccoli/ Bill Weslosky (L)- 2-6, 3-6
The team now advances into the semi-final round of the North Jersey, Group 2, Section 2, State Tournament. They will visit #1 seeded Summit on Thursday afternoon, where the winner will play for the State Championship. Johnson now stands at 12-1 on the season.
