HISTORY
History was made at the JTC on Tuesday, May 20, 2003. The Johnson tennis team celebrated the third annual Senior Day with a 4-1 victory over Rahway. For the seniors: Victor Broccoli was victorious at 3rd singles, Craig D'Amico and Luke Swantek were winners at 1st doubles, John Kosempel played a close second doubles match, while Devin Felter and Chintan Patel celebrated by taking the day off. Ceremonies for the seniors included a special cake and Senior Day certificates. In addition, first singles Mike Klimchak set the school record for most career singles victories with his 61st career win and the team won their 25th consecutive regular season home match. A historic day for all!

Johnson is now 15-2 on the year and a perfect 8-0 in the conference, on their way to a 3-Peat. In the team's upcoming stretch, they will surely be tested, beginning Wednesday against Ridge.

On Monday, April 14, 2003, the Johnson Boys Tennis team won their 20th consecutive regular season game at the JTC with a 4-1 win over Governor Livingston. Johnson has not lost at home since a 3-2 defeat to Rahway on May 18, 2000. Over the nearly three year span, the JTC has not only hosted 20 straight home team wins, but two Senior Day victories, and a MVC Championship clicher VS. Roselle Catholic, a year ago. Weather it's the cracks, the rusting fence, or just the luxury of not having to sit around in a bus, Johnson surely has a dicisive adavantage at home.
